Travel to Aveiro

By Airplane
The Oporto Airport is the best choice to arrive by plane. From there, it is possible to take the E-Line of Metro do Porto using the Andante Blue Ticket (0,60€) and buying the Z4 ticket (1,85€) to the Campanhã train station. There are train connections from Porto to Aveiro every hour: Urbano (60min journey - 3,40€) or InterCidades (40min journey - from 11,70€ to 12,70€) or Alfa Pendular (30min journey - from 14,20€ to 19,70€).

Should you prefer to arrive at Lisbon Airport, it is possible to take the Red-Line of Metro de Lisboa using the Viva Viagem card (0,50€) and buying the Carris/Metro Single ticket (1,40€), to the Oriente train station. There are train connections from Lisboa to Aveiro every hour: InterCidades (2h20 journey - from 20,20€ to 29,80€) or Alfa Pendular (2h journey - from 26,30€ to 37,90€).

By Train
Aveiro's train station is located close to the city’s centre and within 10 minutes walking distance from Meliá-Ria Hotel. It offers urban and regional trains as well as fast services to all main cities in Portugal. For more information on tickets and schedules visit the Comboios de Portugal website.

By Car
It takes up to 1 hour to travel from Porto to Aveiro, using either the A1 or the A29 highways. Travelling from Lisbon will take around 2 hours, using the A1 highway or, best choice, the A8 and A17 highways.

There is a free parking lot next to Meliá-Ria Hotel and it’s possible to find other parking locations around the area. Check the Walking Map of Aveiro to have an idea of the distances inside the City.

Pay attention to Electronic Tolls: Some highways in Portugal have electronic tolls in exclusive. This means that there are no cabins and the electronic identification of the vehicle is made at the moment of crossing the point of collection, in one or several sites along the highway. All lanes with electronic tolls are properly identified using the reference Electronic toll only. For more information regarding this system please visit the Portugal Tolls website.

Visa Requirements
Citizens of countries outside Schengen Area should acquire all the necessary information about applying to a Visa before traveling to Portugal. Please check the website http://ec.europa.eu/dgs/home-affairs/what-we-do/policies/borders-and-visas/visa-policy/index_en.htm



If it is necessary to apply for a Visa, and in order to request a Letter of Acceptance to the Conference Secretariat, applicants must:
  • be an author of an accepted Abstract and have a complete Registration on the Conference fully paid
  • send an e-mail to conferences@bfe.org stating the request, where it must be included the applicants' full name, date of birth, current address and passport data (number, country, issue date and expiry date)
Please note that Visa arrangements must be handled by each participant at their own responsibility. Also, the Letter of Acceptance to be sent to applicants does not, in any way, financially oblige the Biofeedback Federation of Europe for the expenses that participants will incur associated with travel, accommodation, registration and all remaining Conference attendance.
